Donald Archibald peaks

Donnie is a character that originated as a masked halloween joke in late 2014. Dobbic referred to him as his own ‘‘jester’’ like persona and some of his friends started referring to this clown side of him as ‘‘The Night Ghoul’’.
Shortly after this moment had transpired, Dobbic wrote the character down as a Joker/Carnage like villain with nightmare powers that could fight against super heroes. The name of the Night Ghoul was then turned into something fancy sounding, like the child came from a very wealthy family a long time ago, before he went mad.
Thus, his full name then became Donald ‘‘The Night Ghoul’’ Archibald Peaks, shortened to Donnie Peaks.
He came up with the idea that the character had one blind eye, giving it a cross patch to make it stand out a bit more.

When Dobbic started to pick up on modern jazz music projects such as Snarky Puppy, The Comet Is Coming and BADBADNOTGOOD, he decided to make his own fictional band (not unlike The Gorillaz) with a drummer, a bassist and somebody playing the keys.

This band would eventually become ‘‘The Painted Posse’’.
For this project, Dobbic made the first representation of Donnie, in the form of a painted mask in the Summer of 2015.

Since then, this mask had made numerous appearances on different album covers, photo shoots and its design was applied to Dobbic’s paintings, which he started to make around the Spring of 2019.
He added a spiral patch to the left eye, to finish the design, and it has barely changed shape since then.

Donnie is the character that allowed Dobbic to bring his storytelling, music and drawing skills together, which is why the character is one of the most prominent trademarks of Dobbic’s work.
